I work from photos, so good, clear images that show details are important for achieving a realistic likeness. For best results, send photos:

• Taken at cat’s or dog’s eye level, ideally not looking down at the pet.

• Taken in natural light, no harsh shadows.

• Relatively close.

• Show the animal or person’s eyes clearly.

• Show hair and or fur detail and color.

• Send more than one photo showing different poses.

• Write a short description of personality and favorite things.

I will check each photo and edit a good candidate by increasing the size, and adjusting color and clarity if needed, then I will email the photo to you for approval. Be advised that not all photos taken with a phone will be clear when increased in size.

I reserve the right to decline a commission if it appears I won’t be able to render a realistic and beautiful painting from the reference photo.
